LRA Attacks Affect Food Production In Western Equatoria

The Governor of Western Equatoria State, Jemma Nunu Kumba has appealed for a swift action on the dire humanitarian situation in the state. Jemma Nunu told Miraya FM that activities of the Ugandan rebel group, Lord Resistance Army (LRA) had severely affected food production in the state as farmers fled their farmland in fear of LRA attacks.

The Governor said that Western Equatoria had a relatively viable food security before LAR came to the area. Kumba further said that the government is doing its best to make the environment safe for aid agencies to operate

Governor Nanu Kumba said there was a lot of pressures on host communities as thousands of people seek refuge in big towns.
