Deputy Governor of Western Equatoria State, Joseph Ngere, said two senior leaders of the Lord's Resistance Army, (LRA), surrendered this week to the joint forces which have been tracking the Ugandan rebels in the region. Ngere assured the community of Western Equatoria on Tuesday, that by early next year, the State will be free from LRA incursion. He said the current operation against the Ugandan rebels is causing severe damage to the rebels. Ngere also said that the forces for the joint operation which are comprised of Ugandan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Southern Sudan, are pursuing LRA fighters in the Central African Republic.
